Amy Sky
Amy Sky has always used her songs and recordings to reflect "where" she is in life. Her first two albums, "Cool Rain" (1996) and "Burnt By The Sun" (1998) garnered Amy three Juno nominations, two for Songwriter of the Year (both for her own works and compositions recorded by others) and one for Best New Artist. In 2001, inspired by the hundreds of fan letters she received thanking her for capturing the emotions and reality of being a woman in the millennium, Amy released "Phenomenal Woman" by American Poet Dr. Maya Angelou. Amy's latest album, "With This Kiss - A Romance Collection", was released in 2003 as a celebration of good times past and those to come. Amy has sung at many political events, including special speaking engagements for President Bill Clinton, and has twice testified successfully in Ottawa before the CRTC, helping to shape and change copyright policy. For her testimony regarding the groundbreaking establishment of the Neighbouring Rights Royalty, Amy was awarded the Canadian Recording Industry Association Applause Award, in recognition of her "passionate and unwavering support of artists' rights". When not touring or fulfilling her many charitable obligations, Amy lives in Toronto with her husband, acclaimed singer songwriter Marc Jordan, and their two children.
