Raymond Laflamme

Raymond Laflamme is Director of the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), a leading-edge scientific institution at the University of Waterloo in Canada. He co-founded IQC shortly after joining Waterloo’s renowned Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. Previously, Laflamme spent nine years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, during which time he was named an Oppenheimer Fellow. He earned his PhD from Cambridge University under the direction of Stephen Hawking. Laflamme lives in Waterloo with his wife Janice and their children Jocelyne and Patrick.
