Terry Fallis

Terry Fallis

For the past 25 years, Terry Fallis has enjoyed a successful career in politics, public affairs, and public relations consulting. Feeling the sense that something was "missing" through it all, he finally put that feeling to rest when he wrote, podcast, and - after receiving rave reviews from legions of Canadian and International listeners - self publishing The Best Laid Plans, his debut satirical novel of Canadian politics. In 2008, The Best Laid Plans became the first self-published novel ever honoured with the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour and, within a week, Fallis had signed on with a literary agent and landed a publishing deal with McClelland & Stewart. The M&S edition of the novel hit bookshelves in the fall of 2008, followed by Fallis' sequel The High Road in fall of 2010. In February 2011, The Best Laid Plans was crowned the winner of CBC's Canada Reads 2011 as an "essential Canadian novel of the last decade".
